The MWCares Foundation is the philanthropic arm of MW Logistics, LLC. Our mission is to support and uplift our communities by providing resources that strengthen them. These resources include areas such as food insecurity, housing, education, health and economic development.
The MWCares Foundation actively seeks out needs within the community to help level the playing field. We are committed to identifying gaps and partnering with businesses, schools, educational institutions, and other organizations to develop initiatives that empower and provide support to individuals.
By fostering community advocacy and engagement, we aim to create a network that together uplifts our communities by supporting and developing initiatives for equitable and thriving opportunities for all to succeed.
This yearly event aims to feed thousands of families, providing each with food just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Each family served receives a holiday bird, fresh produce, plus pantry staples. The event brings together organizations, such as The Big Good, the Baptist Minister’s Union, as well as the North Texas and Tarrant Area Food Banks. Hundreds of volunteers also join the cause every year.
The MWCares Foundation provides assistance to young minority students seeking higher education. Partnering with area colleges, we are able to provide scholarships and internship programs to help driven students in growing their knowledge and providing them with a head start and a path for success.
The MWCares Foundation serves as a leader to unite organizations to uplift and support our communities. We bring to the table our culture of caring, our professional expertise, resources and relationships with corporations and non-profits who align with our social responsibility goals to make a meaningful impact.
MWCares evolved out of MW Logistics’ community involvement. Realizing a larger need in the North Texas community, Mitchell and Pam Ward decided to establish a Foundation.
Mitchell and Pam both believe that giving back to the community is imperative to ensure that individuals have an opportunity to reach their full potential.
MW Cares appreciates the employees of MW Logistics embracing volunteerism in our community. Each quarter the team comes together to support an organization. Recently the MW Logistics Team volunteered at the Network of Community Ministries.
This non-profit organization provides assistance with food, clothing, utilities, access to referrals/resources and training that aid individuals in dealing with obstacles and limitations that keep them from reaching stability.
Together, our MW Logistics team with the MW Cares Foundation accomplishes extraordinary things for our customers, carriers, and the community!

MWCares joins forces with Tarrant Area Food Bank and community leaders to support campus food pantries
Food insecurity is a pervasive issue that affects individuals from various backgrounds, and college students are no exception. With the rising cost of education and living expenses, a significant number of college students face the challenge of accessing regular, nutritious meals. However, in recent years, an innovative solution has emerged on campuses across the country: college food pantries. These campus resources aim to combat food insecurity and support students’ well-being and academic success.
Research has shown that a staggering 30% to 50% of college students in the United States experience food insecurity at some point during their academic journey. These statistics shed light on the harsh reality that many students face daily: the lack of reliable access to sufficient and nutritious food. The consequences of food insecurity extend beyond the dining table, impacting students’ academic performance, mental health, and overall well-being.
Recognizing the urgent need to support students facing food insecurity, colleges and universities utilize these pantries serving as resources to provide free or low-cost food and other essential items to students in need. College food pantries offer a range of food options, including fresh produce, canned goods, grains, and non-perishable items. By creating a supportive environment and welcoming environment, these pantries aim to remove barriers that may prevent students from seeking the support they need.
Collaborations with local businesses, organizations, and community members for donations and support are critical to expand the resources available to students and create a broader network of support. By working together, campuses and communities can create sustainable solutions where all college students have the opportunity to focus on their education without the burden of hunger, empowering students to thrive.
As this is an issue that aligns well with our mission, in the second semester of 2023 the MWCares Foundation has committed to partnering with the Tarrant Area Food Bank and other local groups and individuals to assist a university here in North Texas. If you are interested in being part of this initiative or to learn more about ways to join us in making a positive impact in our community, please contact Pamela Wills-Ward at email@example.com
For the third year in a row, MW Logistics’ philanthropic arm, MWCares, partners with local organizations to execute the biggest food give away in North Texas, just in time before Thanksgiving 2022.
In partnership with the Tarrant Area Food Bank and the Big Good, we had our annual food distribution event for the Dallas Fort Worth community at the AT&T stadium. This is a community effort to make sure those who are hungry will have a thanksgiving meal this season.
The impact of the inflation in the food insecure population has only made things more difficult. Giving away over 1 Million pounds of food, not only helps address the situation, but brings hope to people who need to know their community cares.
After a full year of preparations, MWCares – the philanthropic arm of minority owned MW Logistics – brings together the local faith community and strategic allies to kick off the Big Give!
The Big Give is a partnership with MWCares, the Big Good and the Tarrant Area Food Bank.
Through this initiative we want to let the Dallas community know that they are loved and hopefully inspire others to give back.
MWCares partnered with the North Texas Food Bank, the Baptist Ministers Union, the Big Give of Fort Worth and the University of North Texas at Dallas to give thousands of families a Thanksgiving meal. Food packages were delivered at the University of North Texas in Dallas. This family food giveaway had a 3 miles long line of people waiting to share a Thanksgiving Meal. Especially during the pandemic, families had struggled as going back to work was difficult and had no resources.
After a whole year of preparation, MWCares partnered with the Tarrant Area Food Bank, the Baptist Ministers Union, the Big Give of Fort Worth and the GoodYear Cotton Bowl Classic to deliver food to thousands of families Thanksgiving meals in 2021. We worked closely with our partners to deliver these meals in packages at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. Thanks to our volunteers, clients, sponsors and families we were able to positively impact around 80,000 from 6,000 families.
Thanks to our 200 volunteers we were able to meet our food and security needs for the 2021 Big Give. We also partnered with key organizations such as the North Texas Food Bank to orchestrate the biggest food giveaway in North Texas, just in time, to serve families in need during Thanksgiving.
As part of our MWCares initiative we believe that every family should be able to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal during the holiday season. Thanks to our partners, clients and volunteers for making this possible.

On behalf of The Big Good, I want to thank our caring community for helping us spread joy during the holiday season.”
Since the onset of the pandemic, UNT Dallas has served as a critical partner hosting numerous mobile pantry distributions on campus alongside NTFB.
“UNT Dallas is proud to join these outstanding partners to provide holiday food on our campus,” said UNT Dallas President Bob Mong. “All of us are more effective when working together and we are grateful to be part of this team effort.”
The food for the distribution is being provided by the NTFB as well as sourced protein items donated by various partners. Participants are asked to line up after 7 am.

Our partners in this initiative operate with the heart of those we serve in mind and I am grateful for their leadership,” said Trisha Cunningham, President and CEO of the North Texas Food Bank. “As we work to address the growing issues of hunger and poverty in our community, we look for partners like these who stand ready to address this complex problem. Their generosity and initiative, help advance our mission of bridging the hunger gap in North Texas during this critical time and beyond.”
